Tannins are fine and well integrated, and acidity is balanced well with the fruit. Yet, compared to other cult Napa wines, this price is a relative bargain. Medium-bodied, the palate has a lively skip in its step, featuring bags of juicy raspberry and cassis-laced fruit and a refreshing line, supported by ripe. Smooth focused mouthfeel, with medium+ to long finish. When I initially opened this bottle, the wine presented on the palate as disjointed, and I had feared it was past its prime. After four hours however, the elements came further most harmoniously. 1999 was a cooler vintage for Napa, and congruent with that, I found this Bordeaux blend to be in line more with what I expect from a French Bordeaux. ~93 ptsĭo you find this review helpful?
